The Details

“Rural Religion” is one of my most satisfying and successful works since its creation in the Spring of 1996.

Created for inclusion in a one–man exhibition, the gallery refused to show it;  it was too dangerous (patinated barbed wire) and controversial (subject matter).

Since then it has been exhibited often, celebrated, documented, editorialized and discussed from both scholarly and aristic perspectives. “Rural religion” speaks without introduction; everyone who sees it, gets it.

It is 10” in diameter and 4.5” tall; made of figured bigleaf maple, patinated barbed wire and thin gauge wire and varnished.

It is valued at $1285.00 and part of my permanent collection
